The technical installation carried out at the Nelson Mandela Stadium included an extensive configuration precisely designed to meet the acoustic requirements of such a space. The details of this installation are as follows:
Speakers:
• 30 clusters, each composed of 3 Alpha 7530EN speakers and 1 B1-15 subwoofer, providing complete and powerful sound coverage for the set rows.
• 8 Alpha 7530EN speakers positioned around the pitch for direct and clear sound diffusion.
• 375 PC-1860EN ceiling speakers and 31 CS-154BS sound projectors, ensuring homogeneous sound distribution in circulation areas and common areas.
• 141 SC-615BS, 114 SC-630M ebQ sound projectors for outdoor areas, ensuring optimal sound quality even in open spaces.
• 8 BS-678BSB wall-mounted speakers and 51 PC-275AB-EB speakers, completing the system for specific applications and areas requiring special attention.
Electronics:
• The control and distribution infrastructure consists of 16 bays of 42 units (600x600), integrating M-8080D digital mixers equipped with M-800DT Dante cards for flexible and high-quality audio signal management.
• Power is provided by 50 VX-3004F, 66 VX-015DA, 19 VX-030DA and 93 VX-050DA amplifiers, ensuring sufficient amplification for all speakers.
• Operational continuity in the event of a power failure is ensured by 25 VX-3000DS backup power supplies supported by 50 100 Ah batteries.
• The distribution network is secured and optimized thanks to 14 IES-2062 switches, allowing efficient communication between the various components of the system.
In compliance with the strict EN 54 safety standards, the sound system not only guarantees an exceptional listening experience for all events, but also ensures the safety in urgent cases.
